Comprehensive Soil and Herbage Testing: We use a very broad and extensive soil analysis to reveal nutrient deficiencies and soil capabilities. Our preferred laboratory is Brookside Labs. For herbage, pasture and leaf analysis we prefer to use Eurofins.
Independent Fertiliser Recommendations: We use the expertise of Agronomic Advisory Services for all granular fertiliser recommendations, ensuring complete independence from fertiliser companies. Robin Boom, one of New Zealands leading agronomists has over 30 years experience helping farmers and growers improve their soil, crop and animal health.
Fertiliser Orders and Logistics: We make ordering and logistics easy - we work with many fertiliser companies around New Zealand to find you the best products and pricing. We liaise with transporters and spreaders to organize logistics.
Advice and Service: We have the knowledge, experience and networks to help you with fertiliser, soil, plant and animal health. We advocate Eco-Agriculture, working in harmony with nature and improving our natural environment. We are here to help you grow nutrient rich, environmentally safe and sustainable produce.

LIQUID PLANT FOOD
Improving nutrition and reducing costs with liquid fertilisers.
At FarmMatters we have our own brand of Liquid Fertilisers we call Fertwise. We have formulated a number of liquid nutritional fertilisers to work in harmony with nature and a balanced fertiliser program. They help reduce granular fertiliser application and because of how they work, they reduce environmental impact.
Plants can feed two ways. Through their roots or through the plant itself, which is the main way liquid products work. We call this foliar feeding. It is a very fast way to get minerals into the plant. Using Fertwise liquid fertilisers increases the nutritional value of plants because it builds complex sugars within the plant, making them stronger, healthier and more productive. This can be seen in brix testing which is used to test nutritional sugar levels in plant juices. All the nutrients we put into our products are pure and required by plants, animals or humans. It all gets used and nothing gets wasted.
We can feed pasture and crops directly. What the plants don’t take immediately goes into the soil to be used by the plants as needed.

We haven’t been using the liquid fertiliser long, but since using it there is definitely an improvement in pasture and animals. The stock look shiny and healthy and the beef animals are about 10% heavier than normal. We haven’t had any issues with worms, lice, ticks and things either.
